Brainyard - Privacy Policy

Effective date: 12 October 2026

The short version

  • You don't need an account. We never ask for your name, email, phone number, location, contacts or photos.
  • Your game progress (levels, stars, coins, streak) is stored only on your device.
  • Brainyard is free and shows ads. Our ad partners use your device's advertising ID to show and measure ads.
  • We use Google Firebase to see how the games are played and to fix crashes.
  • You can change your ad privacy choices at any time in Settings → Privacy choices.

This policy explains how the Brainyard mobile app ("Brainyard", "the app", "we", "us") handles information when you use it. It applies to the Brainyard app for Android (package com.brainyard.puzzles).

1. Information stored on your device

To save your progress, the app keeps the following on your device only: completed levels and stars, daily puzzle results, streak, coins, hints, settings (sound, haptics, theme, reminders) and which tutorials you've seen. We don't upload this data to our own servers. It's deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data in Android settings.

2. Information collected by third-party services

The app includes software from the providers below. They may collect information directly from your device under their own privacy policies.

Advertising

We use AppLovin MAX to show ads. MAX works with ad networks that compete to fill each ad, including Google AdMob and Meta Audience Network. These providers may collect:

  • your device's advertising ID (Android Advertising ID)
  • IP address and approximate location derived from it (country or city level, not GPS)
  • device and app information, such as model, operating system, language, app version and screen size
  • ad interactions, such as ads shown, taps and whether a video ad was completed

They use this information to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure ad performance, prevent fraud and, where permitted by your choices, show personalised ads.

Analytics and crash reports

We use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. They collect:

  • gameplay events, such as which game and level you started or finished, stars earned, hints and coins used, and screens viewed
  • broad groups for your streak and coin balance (for example "3–6 days"), never exact personal details
  • an app instance ID, device and app information, and approximate location from your IP address
  • crash and error reports: the state of the app when it crashed (such as the game and level) and device details

We use this to understand which puzzles are too hard or too easy, improve the games and fix bugs. We do not use analytics data to identify you personally.

3. Permissions the app uses

  • Notifications: only for the optional daily puzzle reminder. You can turn it off in the app or in Android settings.
  • Vibration: for haptic feedback during play. You can turn it off in the app's settings.
  • Internet and advertising ID: used by the ad and analytics services described above.

The app does not request access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos or files.

4. Your choices

  • Ad privacy choices: if you're in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown. You can review or change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy choices. Users in US states with privacy laws can use the same screen to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising, where offered.
  • Advertising ID: you can delete or reset your advertising ID in Android settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads, depending on your device). After that, you'll still see ads, but they won't be personalised using that ID.
  • Notifications: turn reminders on or off in the app or in Android settings.
  • Delete your data: uninstall the app or clear its storage in Android settings to remove all progress stored on your device. To request deletion of analytics data linked to your app instance, contact us at the address below.

5. Data retention

Progress data stays on your device until you delete it. Analytics, crash and ad data are kept by each provider for the periods described in their own policies. For Firebase, we use Google's standard retention settings.

6. Children

Brainyard is a general-audience puzzle game and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we'll help remove it.

7. Security

Data sent by the third-party services in the app is transferred over encrypted connections (HTTPS). No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we choose established providers and limit what the app collects.

8. International transfers

Our service providers may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, they use legal safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, object to or restrict its processing, and withdraw consent. Because we don't hold an account or contact details for you, most requests are best handled through the in-app privacy choices or the providers listed above. You can also contact us, and you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. We'll post the new version on this page and update the effective date at the top. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
